Description

The Tricolore is a tribute to the Italian air force’s Frecce Tricolore, which is the Latin equivalent of the Red Arrows aerobatic display team. Other distinguishing marks of this one-off Zonda are the red, white and green stripes of the Italian flag that run up either side of the car’s bonnet and the blue interior. The blue seats and steering wheel mimic the colour scheme of the uniforms worn by the Frecce Tricolore’s pilots and the blue paint finish of their jets.
Pagani Zonda Tricolore the Tricolore comes with a 678bhp version of the Zonda’s 7.3-litre V12, Mercedes-sourced engine and it’s good for 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h

On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the “Frecce Tricolori” in 2010, Pagani Automobili created the Zonda Tricolore as a tribute to the National Aerobatic Team.

The Frecce Tricolori (literally: Tricolour Arrows), known as the 313th Aerobatic Training Squadron, is the official airborne demonstration team of the Italian Air Force, based at Rivolto Air Force Base in the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, province of Udine.

The final mass-produced Zonda was originally conceived as a one-off; there were actually three Tricolores built. It was built as a tribute to the country’s aerobatic team. It carries a lot of the body from the Zonda Cinque. The car is unpainted except for a clear blue lacquer and red, white and green stripes that run up from the nose along the top of the car’s surface. Unique to this car is a small wing placed behind the cockpit which reflects Frecce Tricolori’s Aermacchi MB-339 PAN stunt plane tail wing. The three Tricolore’s will be priced at £1.2 Million. It is also 6 mph (9.7 km/h) faster than a standard Zonda at 220 mph (350 km/h).
