Set to be unveiled for the first time next week at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the new 2010 Gumpert Apollo Sport receives the automaker’s latest Power Package. Optimized engine control, new recirculation valves and improved cooling have now improved the performance of the German supercar to 750 horsepower, up from 700 horsepower in the previous Apollo Sport.
The car’s TT40e electronic gear system also receives new rocker switches on the steering wheel that enables the driver to execute quicker shifts.
A further highlight is the launch of the first Apollo in right-hand drive, which now opens up markets like the UK and Japan.
The Apollo line of cars all feature a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V-8 engine sourced from Audi and matched to a sequential six-speed gearbox. The fastest version so far is the Apollo Speed, which is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds flat and reaching a top speed of 224 mph=360km/h. Furthermore, according to Gumpert, the Apollo is capable of lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 7m 11.57s!
