Description

🏎️💨 This Ferrari P80/C is Maranello’s most radical one-off: designed exclusively for the track and based on the 488 GT3 🏁🚗

If you’re one of Ferrari’s special clients, the brand from Maranello will likely have no problem creating a unique or one-off vehicle for you, like this Ferrari P80/C they just unveiled, conceived as a modern sport prototype ready for the track 🏎️💨🔧

This particular client, a Ferrari collector, wanted the model to draw inspiration from some of Maranello’s iconic sports cars, like the Ferrari 330 P3/P4, the Dino 206 S from 1966, and the Ferrari 250 LM 🚗✨

With this, the design, aerodynamics, and engineering teams got to work 🛠️🚗

The goal of Ferrari’s Design Center was to create a modern car, not retro-looking, but with clear nods to the brand’s past competition vehicles 🏁🔧 The project started in 2015 and is the longest development of any Ferrari one-off 🕰️🏆

This P80/C isn’t just a design exercise based on a current model (Ferrari says it’s not the typical coachbuilder’s job); it’s a track car that required significant work in aerodynamics and engineering, including many modifications to the running gear 🛠️💨🔧

Aesthetically, it features a specific splitter, a catamaran-style front, no traditional headlights (since it’s track-only), a wraparound windshield referencing past sport prototypes, an aggressive rear diffuser, a large carbon fiber wing, numerous vents and air intakes, and 18-inch single-nut wheels (with a “display” package that includes 21-inch wheels) 🚗🏁💨

The P80/C is based on the racing 488 GT3, which has a wheelbase 5 centimeters longer than the street 488 GTB 🏎️📏 In terms of aerodynamics, Ferrari claims to have benefited from the experience with the 488 GT3 but without racing restrictions, aiming for aerodynamic balance between both axles 🌬️🔧

The engine is a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 “without restrictions,” likely indicating it reaches the 720 HP available in some street models (488 Pista or F8 Tributo) instead of the 550 HP limited in competition 🚗💨 Ferrari hasn’t released official power or performance figures yet 🚫📊

The cabin is fully race-oriented, with an integrated roll cage, digital dashboard, and carbon fiber steering wheel 🏁🛠️ There are also some modifications compared to the 488 GT3, such as redesigned dashboard sides and new blue upholstery for the racing seats, which have a carbon fiber structure and harnesses 🎨🪑
